George Hoth
George J. Hoth, 81, a Skagit county, WA resident, died at the
Mira Vista Care center Monday, Sept. 17. Memorial services were held
in the Kern Funeral Chapel, Mount Vernon, WA Tuesday, Sept. 25.
Cremation was held with inurnment following at the Mount Vernon
cemetery.
He was born in Putney July 17, 1909 to John and Katie (Hinrichs)
Hoth. He was educated in the Amherst area, and moved to Sedro
Woolley, WA in 1937. He served overseas in the North African and the
European campaigns with the 602nd Ordinance Battalion Tank Division.
He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Skagit county. On Sept. 1,
1946, he married Grace E. Butler in Ellensburg, WA. The couple lived
in Sedro Woolley until 1963 when they moved to Phoenix, AZ. They
returned to Washington in 1990. Mrs. Hoth died in July of 1990.
Mr. Hoth had worked throughout his life as a machinist and
mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion, the Independent
Order of Foresters and a past member of the Skagit County Musicians
Union. He enjoyed music and played in several dance bands throughout
the area in the 40's, 50's and early 60's.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Claire and Robert Hubele,
Puyallup, WA; a step-son, Gerald and Donna Mitchell, Burlington, WA;
four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Martha
Louise Henry, Sedro Woolley and Anje Lucile Tisher, Amherst and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

P.O. Box 484, Burlington, WA 98233, or a favorite charity.
